Food for Life
Our Food for Life courses are aimed at students who are still living at home, about to leave or already living away from home, typically aged 16 – 25.
Our courses are designed to be lots of fun, with students working in teams of 4-6, getting stuck in to hands-on cooking straight away. We link everything to nutrition, budget, seasonality and sustainability. We teach contemporary food that is easy to make and packed with flavour and goodness.

We believe that giving teenagers and young adults a solid foundation in a full range of cookery skills is essential for their future health and happiness. We have created a bespoke course – Food for Life that runs as a 2-day intensive course, a 12-week evening course and 1-week residential courses to fit in with D of E awards as well as college curricula. Food for Life covers:
- how to cook simple, cheap, but delicious food
- how food affects well-being, fitness and brain power
- how to shop smart and budget for a week’s food
- how to cook and eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables
- how to be an eco-friendly and ethical cook
