Gentlemen’s Relish – first gear
Saturday, May 4th, 2013, 10am-2pm
This class is aimed at beginners but also suits cooks who have never covered the basic skills and building blocks of successful cooking. We start with basic knife skills, a chat about health and nutrition, what to keep in your pantry, fridge and freezer. While cooking, we go through the art of seasoning and how to build flavour in food.
The first gear class covers eggs for scramble, omelette and cakes. Cooking rice, pasta, noodles and potatoes to perfection. Recipes include Chili con Carne, fresh Tomato sauce, Green Thai curry, roast Chicken, perfect roast potatoes and buttery mash as well as contemporary gravy and pan juices. We will also rustle up a lovely Victoria sandwich and a fruit crumble.
The class culminates in a shared meal with wine.
Class includes:
- Refreshments on arrival
- All ingredients provided - seasonal and locally sourced
- Unless otherwise specified classes are 100% hands-on cooking

- All clearing away done by our wonderful team!
