Create a Gourmet picnic hamper before punting

Nothing could be further from cheese straws and shop-bought sandwiches than a Cambridge Cookey School picnic hamper! Scudamores are joining forces with the picnic enthusiasts at the cookery school, offering you a creative and fun cookery session resulting in a gourmet picnic basket made from fresh, seasonal ingredients. After a couple of fun hours in the cookery school’s stunning kitchen, you bring your goodies along to a pre-booked chauffeured punt on the Cam.

You will learn how to make your own fresh bread, such as Focaccia, delicous dips such as Salsa Verde and Red pepper Hummus, gourmet quail Scotch eggs, Beef and chilli Empanadas or Lamb Koftas with saffron yoghurt. Desserts include mini chocolate Brownies, Tiramisu with Hazelnut liqueur or Apricot tarts – all depending on the season. If you prefer making perfect cupcakes and dainty cucumber and smoked salmon sandwiches to go with your Prosecco instead, just tell us so! Ingredients are locally sourced from small producers and you will cook with easy-going chefs who love to share their tips and techniques. Our containers are disposable and biodegradable to free you up once you step off the Cam.
