Cambridge Cookery School Autumn 2010

We are opening our brand new teaching kitchen in central Cambridge this September. While we build, we are unable to run our normal programme, except for our summer courses for youngsters in July.

We will introduce a much expanded programme for the autumn and will continue to add new courses and dates to the list below. In the meantime, if you are looking for a class and can’t see it on the list, please email or call us and we’ll be happy to explain what is happening.

If you are a student looking for a quick fix, we run a Fresher’s course on Gyp cooking in October – see below.

Our daytime courses start off with coffee and home-baked pastries, while we get to know each other and run through the recipes of the day. We then get down to chopping, slicing, filleting and kneading, before sitting down with a glass of wine to enjoy the meal we have prepared. Full recipes for all dishes comes with each course. 10am-2.30pm £85pp. See below for dates and courses.

Our autumn Contemporary Cooking evening courses will be be offered as an 8-week progressive course for all those looking to build up solid, everyday cookery skills. Our focus is on fresh, healthy food that can be prepared without fuss. The skills taught will suit young and old, single households, families and those cooking for others on a regular basis.
Wednesday 6th October-1st December 6.30-9pm. £575pp

We will continue to run our popular Friday Night Cookery Club on the last Friday of every month. The emphasis is on providing a relaxed, fun evening out and our Friday Nights have become popular with groups of friends, single people and colleagues looking for a great evening out. Friday Night Cookery Club 7-10pm £55pp

Our new Sunday morning Master Classes will kick off with a 3-step course in Bread making. The 3 courses can be booked separately or together.
31st October – Introduction to Bread Making
21st November – Intermediate Bread Making
13th February – Advanced Bread Making
11am-3pm £95 per course or £242 for 3

We will also introduce a Local Flavours series focusing on local, seasonal food. The first of these will be guest chef Hilary Cacchio’s course Some Like It Hot – a searing set of recipes using East Anglian chillies.

In addition, we also offer party/private classes, which can be run either during the day or evening. Please click on the Cambridge Cookery School Courses page to view course descriptions, and to book a course, click on the booking form in the left hand corner.

Cookery class in progress

“After just one day in Tine’s kitchen I finally lost my fear of cooking fish, discovered a foolproof method to test a meat joint is done and confidently produced a seriously impressive soufflé for pudding! As someone stuck in the “spag bol” rut of family cooking it was a revelation and has definitely inspired me to be more adventurous.”
