Cambridge Cookery School
Programme for children and young adults

We are thrilled to announce that we will be opening our own brand new kitchen this September. The new Cambridge Cookery School will be based at Purbeck Road, next to Hill’s Road Sixth form college.

On September 13th-14th we introducing Food for Life – a course to equip young adults with excellent contemporary cookery skills. We believe in teaching essential skills such as bread making, roasting chicken, pan frying fish, making risottos, making quick healthy breakfasts as well as a few cakes and biscuits. Our teaching is strongly linked to nutrition, seasonality and sustainability – while having fun. The course will run in 3 different formats

  • 2-day course – 17 hours – “13th-14th September 2010” – £195
  • 10 week evening course – 30 hours – “starting January 2011” – £395
  • 1-week course – 40 hours – “starting July 2011” – prices vary depending on residential/non residential options

The 2-day course is primarily intended for students preparing to leave home this autumn. This intensive course starts at 8.30 am with cooking and eating breakfasts and finishes at 5pm. It will give an excellent set of essential skills from cooking eggs via baking bread to roasting chicken.

The 10-week evening course will offer weekly 3-hour sessions from 5-8pm. It suits IB students looking to fill CAS hours, those looking for a D of E activity as well as other local AS/A level and University students interested in an evening course which will result in fantastic cookery skills.

The week-long course with residential options is our most comprehensive course giving solid cookery skills for life. The residential option makes this course suitable for D of E gold award requiring 5 days and 4 nights away.

Our programme for children will also expand with after school cookery club and Saturday morning classes for children.

While we are waiting to move, we continue to use The Centre at St Paul’s for our half term courses. This is based on the corner of St Paul’s Road and Hill’s Road and will soon announce a programme for the May/June half term.

Please do contact us for further information on all of the above.
